A Skeleton in the Cupboard.（橱中骷髅）是国外的谚语，我们经常在小说里读到，一个外表看起来很受人尊敬的人或家庭，多年来一直隐藏着一些不为人知的可怕的秘密。 在故事的某个戏剧性时刻，这种骇人听闻的秘密－－即“橱中骷髅”让人识破了，于是便名誉扫地。
现常常指每个人或每个家庭都有不可告人的秘密。
